National Education is part of a holistic education that aims to develop national cohesion, cultivate the instinct for survival as a nation and instil in our students, confidence in our nation’s future. It also emphasises on cultivating a sense of belonging and emotional rootedness to Singapore.

To enable students to internalise their learning, the school takes on the following platforms:

Commemoration of Total Defence Day, International Friendship Day, Racial Harmony Day, and National Day.These four core NE Events have been identified as defining moments in Singapore’s history they evoke deep images on nation building in the consciousness of each successive generation.

The Community Involvement Programme (CIP) is the mainstay of the curriculum across all levels, with the objective of building social cohesion and civic responsibility. CIP is conducted on a whole-level approach to encourage school-wide participation.

Learning Journeys refer to all trips out of school which aim to extend and enrich the classroom experience. In their four years of studies in the school, students will participate in at least 2 Learning Journeys.

The NE Quiz aims to test students’ knowledge and understanding of National Education. It is administered to all students (including PRs and international students) at Secondary Four. In addition, all students will also participate in the school’s annual internal NE Quiz.
