School Family Education

This year, Bedok Town Secondary School is pleased to announce the official launch of the School Family Education programme on 18th April 2009. The launch was held in conjunction with the school’s 41st Speech and Prize Giving Day. The launch also marked the official opening of The Family Cove by the Cluster Superintendent, Mrs Gan Lai Chui.

School Family Education (SFE) was started by MCYS in 2002 to equip parents with effective parenting skills and to get them to be more involved in the education of their children. Since then 80 schools have joined the SFE family. For more on the School Family Education initiative, feel free to log onto www.sfe.org.sg.

Family Life Society (FLS) will be the service provider for SFE at Bedok Town. FLS is a non-profit organization that offers counseling and care services as well as educational programs and resources to families and individuals. FLS was established as the Family Life Bureau in 1983 and registered in Feb 1985 under the Societies Act of Singapore to promote understanding and respect for marriage, family and human life.
